Bradford CAMRA’s Pub of the Season for Spring 2017 is the Chip ‘n Ern in Bingley.
Brian presents the plague to Dave who tells the story that he used to do a bookie’s run for two old chaps who sat outside the White Swan, Idle, when he was a lad. He always said he would turn the tables one day. So Chip and Ern are permanently stuck outside his pub. Take a look next time. The interior is similarly eccentric, but nice with it.
The bar serves mainly local beers, with Bingley often in evidence.
There is now a comfortable upstairs lounge area for quiet contemplation, except when the rugby is on telly.
Just one more thing: Don’t ask much the beer is – it’s likely to be three quid. It hardly needs a price list on the wall, does it?
