Bradford CAMRA pub recognition scheme

In Bradford branch we are blessed with over 10 breweries and an unusually high number of pubs which sell real ale, real cider or perry. As a branch we cannot physically visit every one of these venues in three year period, despite the best efforts of some of our members. Every pub which sells real ale and supports its local community supports the aims of CAMRA though by selling these traditional British brews. They promote moderate social drinking, support their communi- ties by providing a friendly establishment to meet up, maybe they have their own sports teams or they offer good local food. As CAMRA members know there are many pubs which do this day in, day out and they are never recognised for their efforts

At a recent Bradford Branch meeting we, as a branch, have decided that they should be recog- nised with a modest supply of marketing material that will show we do appreciate their efforts in the form of a supply of beermats and CAMRA marketing leaflets/posters.

This will be a two way partnership with these establishments as they will be displaying membership forms, maybe some posters, possibly be recognised as locale pubs and enable us to host socials in some premises we have either not visited or not visited for some considerable time.

To be eligible a pub must agree to display our material and sell real ale all year. It is as simple as that; this is not a competition, merely a recognition scheme. We will present each eligible premises with a supply of Bradford CAMRA beer mats and relevant marketing posters/membership forms, and do our best to visit them at a future social event.

How do you fit in as a member who may not necessarily attend a branch meeting but are supporting the aims of CAMRA by using the premises for modest social drinking? You simply email our branch secretary or send a letter giving us details, we will check it out and do the rest.
